 SEVA CHALLENGE
The OTM Seva Challenge 2009 was a tremendous success! Over 120 participants joined this call to action and proved just how effective and powerful community collaboration and a joint vision can be! As a collective, we raised $576,980 over the course of the year. On February 6, we sent an action team of twenty-one participants who met the $20k goal to Uganda to participate in hands on work with our partner organizations. Follow their journey as they share their stories and inspiration from the field.
GLOBAL SEVA
The Global Seva Challenge 2010 has officially launched! This year our efforts will support humanitarian efforts in South Africa. We will begin by studying the history of South Africa focusing on apartheid and its effect on the current culture and AIDS crisis in Africa. Then, working closely with YouthAIDS, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and Linawo Children’s Home we will help to fund and build health and education programs that will provide tools and resources for the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Similar to our past two challenges, participants must meet the goal of $20k by December 15, 2010, in order to take part in the Bare Witness Humanitarian Trip that is happening in February 2011. URBAN SEVA
The OTM Urban Seva Challenge invites us to examine some of the root causes of crime, poverty, disenfranchisement, and marginalization in minority and urban youth in America. In 2010, our focus will be in the city of Los Angeles, raising funds to support local programs that work with young people in LA. For participants in this project, this will be a deep and provocative journey of self-exploration as well as an exploration of the realities that exist right in our own back yard. Whether you are from L.A. or not, this trip will be provocative, informative and can support the work you are doing in your own local area.
Participants will have the chance to learn from local leaders doing cutting edge work in juvenile hall, gang prevention and rehabilitation, diversity and social justice issues, yoga, art and alternative therapies, policy and more.
The goal is to raise $10,000 (or $8000 if you are from LA and/or have your own lodging and no travel expenses) by December 1, 2010. Read more

 YOGA IN ACTION
Yoga in Action small groups allow participants to embark on a journey of self-inquiry with the support of a small group of peers that leads to action within our community and outside world. OTM’s vision is to seed these small groups of change in communities to inspire collaboration and connection among our community of yoga activists. Connect with a local group near you!
